Two day Lampwork Improvers Course on Thursday 12th and Friday 13th October, 2017 10.30am - 5pm
Not for beginners, but if you have done a taster session and want to improve your skill and learn new techniques, this two day course is for you. We have five Nortel Minor torches and a large selection of coloured glass rods for you to play with. Day One: You will make beads using large circumference mandrels or standard ones, using transparent and opaque glass, with the addition of stringers and twisties, frit and silver leaf. Day Two: You will be making shaped beads using standard size mandrels, brass presses and hand shaping, adding flower murrini, and fine stringer and dot decoration.
Please wear long sleeved cotton tops, closed toe shoes and tie back long hair. Safety glasses and leather aprons will be provided. Tea, coffee, biscuits available at break time and you can eat out or bring your own lunch. Bottled water also provided. Your Tutor will be Priscilla McGirr, a Lincolnshire glass bead maker, well known for her expertise in silver glass.
