Experiment with Nuno Felting with Textile artist Karen Lane Monday 11th June, 2018 10.30 – 3.30pm
Includes all materials. In this workshop we will be laminating soft merino fibres with a variety of different lightweight materials to make our own unique fabrics. This exciting technique is known as Nuno felting. Nuno is the Japanese word for cloth. We will work with very lightweight open fabrics, combining them withy wool fibres to produce some wonderful textural effects. Karen will provide samples and inspiration on how you can embellish and use your new fabrics once you get them home.
About Karen Lane
My name is Karen Lane and I am a Feltmaker and Textile Artist based in the market town of Horncastle in the beautiful Lincolnshire Wolds.
I discovered Feltmaking back in 2013 when I attended a short class which introduced me to basic wet felting……what a revelation that was! I’ve always sewn and sketched and been generally creative and found it incredible that I hadn’t ever seen felting done before. Needless to say it wasn’t long before I was completely hooked! Since then I have attended workshops and learnt from some wonderful international feltmakers including Annemie Keonen, Marjolein Dallinga and Dagma Binder.
I now divide my time between creating new work in my studio and being out and about, delivering workshops in Feltmaking and Creative Textiles, sharing my passion and motivating others to realise their creative potential
