Make some little bean bags from fabric scraps and dried beans - they are great for games or even as weights when you are trying to read something in the garden.

Bean Bag Catch
 – Give one child a cup or a little pot. You might want to find something that cannot break. Let the other child toss the bean bag. They need to work together as a team to try and catch as many as they can.
Bean Bag Netball – This is a toss game where they take turns trying to get the bean bag in the bucket. You can vary the position starting point based on the child’s age to make it fair.
Bean Bag Music Freeze – Play music. Let them dance or throw the bean bags while the music is going. When the music stops, they need to freeze. This can be a competitive game where children can sit out if they don’t freeze in time. It can also just be fun to repeat this over and over.
Bean Bag Endurance Activities – This game will keep them busy for a while.
Put one pile of bean bags as one end of the garden or room. They need to move bean bags across the space one at a time. They need to do it at your command. So ,when they pick up a bean bag, you get to call out to say whether they should run, skip, hop, leap, gallop, crawl, etc.
Hide the Bean bag –  Children take turns hiding the bean bag and then others go and search for it. Kids love to search for things. Beanbags provide the perfect medium.

Collaged cut out lion
Paint or crayon onto some paper making different patterns to make this little, standing lion. It is made from a folded piece of card so would make a great greetings card and is a fun project to do with children.
You will need:
  • A selection of paper and cardboard. You can use an old cereal packet for the card.
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Pen
Step 1          Fold a piece of patterned card in half (approx
200mm x270mm but you can make it bigger).
Step 2          Cut out the legs and tail, using the image as a
                      guide.
Step 3          Open up the folded card and cut off the tail on
                     one side.
Step 4          Cut out a shape for the head. (approx 70mm x
                      80mm or bigger.
Step 5          Cut out some strips of patterned paper
Step 6          With the pattern side of the paper strips facing
down, glue a section at the end of each strip
and stick them to the back of the face section,
positioning them around in a circle. They can
                      overlap each other.
Step 7          Cut out a nose strip and some ears and stick
                      them down.
Step 8          Finish off the head with a black nose out and
eyes. Add some whiskers and stick the head
                      down to the body.
