Raku Pottery workshop with Pris Mcgirr on Thursday 25th October 2018 10.30 – 3.30 6 places
3 places left -We provide 3 pieces ready for you to glaze and fire. This is a visually exciting & fast way of firing pottery with beautiful & surprising results. Raku involves removing pottery from the kiln while at bright red heat & placing it into containers with combustible materials. Once the materials ignite, the containers are closed. This produces an intense reduction atmosphere, which affects the colours of the glazes. The drastic thermal shock can result in a desirable crazing of the surface. Bring shoes that cover your toes, cotton clothes, tie back long hair & bring a packed lunch.
